After moving to Canada in late 2024, Zemichael saw that getting a job was the best way to support his family and build a better future. In early 2025, he applied to Lokken College with a goal of starting a career in the industrial field and beginning his work journey in Canada.

During his 20-week Certified Industrial Personnel program, Zemichael completed curriculum that helped him prepare for work and life. He set personal goals, created a career plan, and researched jobs that matched his interests. He also worked on improving his reading, writing, and math skills. Other assignments taught him how to manage his time, make a budget, stay safe at work, and use a computer. Zemichael also learned how to write a resume and practice for job interviews.
