GED and Gainful Employment!
Jennifer has secured employment as a Front Desk Agent and is in the final phase of her 20-week Certified Hospitality Personnel (CHP) program with a focus on the Front Desk Agent stream. During her program, Jennifer completed the Lokken College GED preparation curriculum and wrote the GED exam before securing employment; she is pictured above proudly displaying her High School Equivalency Diploma. Jennifer also created an eye-catching resume and cover letter during her program, as well as attended daily Career Path Management presentations to improve her soft-skills; such as Time Management, Money and Budgeting, Conflict Resolution and more. As part of Jennifer’s CHP program, she also completed Front Desk Agent specific emerit training to increase her knowledge of the position and improve her employability.
Learners in the Certified Hospitality Personnel (CHP) program are being certified by emerit training and certification as a Front Desk Agent, Housekeeping Room Attendant, Food and Beverage Server, or Line Cook. CHP learners are working toward the Tourism Certified Professional (TCP) designation, a credential recognized throughout the Canadian Hospitality Industry. The emerit National Professional Certification is sanctioned by Tourism HR Canada.
