CIP(A) will:

Expand your ability to find and retain work
Help you market yourself to employers.
Provide you with the safety training required in today’s trade based industries.
Provide instruction to help you obtain the academic requirements for your chosen Trade.
Provide opportunities for work experience in a variety of trades.
Help you find full time employment in the trade of your choice.
Provide ongoing employment support and counselling for six (6) months after you graduate.

CIP(A) has been developed to prepare unemployed and underemployed Albertans to enter and retain employment in the trades.  If you:

Require improved academic qualifications or skills to meet the demands of industrial employment.
Want to learn new career skills.
Want to work in heavy industry.
Have job search and/or job retention difficulties.
Have expired or no safety training certificates.

Program Overview

CIP(A) is a unique twenty (20 week) training program that includes:

JR - Job Retention: 30 Hours

Job Retention develops the skills needed to maintain employment and take advantage of opportunities for career advancement that arise from employment. After completing JR, you will to:
o demonstrate the ability to meet employers’ expectations
o make positive changes in employment
o contributing to a positive workplace
o meet your expectations as an employee
o describe your rights and responsibilities in the Alberta workplace

FW - Follow Up

FW-1 Three (3) months after graduation
